Glass Cannon Nerve

Your nerve is real but it lives near the surface. When a fight goes the way you pictured it, you are lovely to watch: clean spacing, confident pokes, good instincts. When it stops going to plan, the plan is the first thing to go. That shape is extremely common and it is fixable without changing a single thing about your reflexes, because the fix is behavioural rather than physical. Give yourself one deliberately wasted attempt where the only goal is watching. Most people find the fight shrinks straight afterwards.

“My boss-fight nerve is brilliant right up until the moment the plan changes.”

Runs Hot, Learns Late

You have plenty of fight in you, arguably a bit too much. You go back in fast, which is admirable, but you tend to go back in with the same plan and more adrenaline, and adrenaline is not a strategy. The good news is that players shaped like you improve in sudden jumps: once you finally stop and name the thing that keeps ending the run, the fight usually falls over within a couple of tries. Your patience is not missing. It just turns up late.

“I run hot in boss fights and learn the lesson four attempts later than I should.”

Steady Under Fire

You are the person everyone wants in the room when the music changes. You watch before you commit, you keep something in reserve, and you can lose four times without concluding that the game is broken or that you are. That combination of curiosity and a long fuse is exactly what boss design rewards, because these encounters are built to be learned rather than won on sight. You probably also enjoy the second attempt more than the first, which is unusual and rather pleasant.

“Steady under fire: I lose four times, learn four things, and still enjoy it.”

Cold Water Calm

Something in you goes quiet when the stakes rise. While everyone else is mashing, you are counting: how long that wind-up lasts, which side the swing comes from, how much room you get after the third hit. You treat a wipe as information rather than an insult, and you almost never spend resources out of fear. Players like you underrate how rare this is, because from the inside it simply feels like paying attention. It is not. It is most of the skill.

“Cold water calm: when the boss speeds up, I somehow slow down.”
